Diploma in Global Beauty Management

Description

The Diploma in Global Beauty Management aims to enable learners to gain the necessary practical and theoretical skills in order to provide competence in beauty and body services (i.e manual facial, eye and make-up treatments, waxing, manicure and pedicure as well as body massage) to meet standards of best practices as well as to provide learners with the knowledge and management skills to perform at junior management level in the beauty sector with the competency to carry out the recognized beauty and body treatments in today’s market.

The Diploma course comprises six (7) subject units and the project. The six (7) subject units are determined by the academy from the following list:

  • Manage the business, treatment services, and sales delivery
  • Branding and market the small business
  • Provide a safe work environment
  • Customer Service
  • Human Resource Management
  • Fundamentals of accounting
  • Business English
  • Project

Qualification Award

Candidates who successfully complete all 7 units of this programme will be awarded;

Global Diploma by Global Academy of Hospitality and Management in Sari Lanka

 

Entry Requirements

  • GCE ‘O’ level – 3 passes
  • Grade 10
  • SPM – 3 passes
  • Chinese Senior High School Year 1
  • Diploma in Global Beauty Therapy
  • Students with equivalent foreign qualifications may be admitted provided they are proficient in the English Language, and possess
    1. IELTS 5.0 or equivalent qualifications (wef July 2016 intake) OR
    2. A Pass in English Placement Test determined by the College

Those who fail the English Placement Test will be required to successfully complete the EAP/ESL (Lower Intermediate) course conducted by college

Age Limit: 16 and above

Course Duration and Hours

6 months study + 6 months internship or project in Sri Lanka

Total study: 360 Hours

Maximum teacher-student ratio is 1:30

The teaching approaches and methods adopted will be according to the requirement of the learning outcomes of each unit. These may include:

Assessment

In-course assessments will be conducted. In-course assessments may include quizzes, class tests, class participation in question and answer sessions, oral presentation, unit assignments including assignment reports and demonstrations where relevant, valid and appropriate.
